Magbakasyon ka naman!: The Importance of Sem Breaks and Vacations

Last week, nagdecide ako na huwag munang mag-workout sa gym. Sabi kasi nung isang librong nabasa ko, kelangan din ng katawan ng rest para magdevelop ang muscles at marefresh para sa panibagong pagbubuhat ng mabigat.

Panahon ng sembreak ngayon. Masaya no? Walang pasok. Walang trapik. Walang assignments!

Pwedeng manood ng TV maghapon. Mag-DOTA magdamag. Magswimming. Bakasyon galore! Yooohooo!!

It led me thinking about breaks and vacations.

Rest can replenish your energy. Kapag pagod ka na sa dami ng kinakaharap mong problems at stress, kelangan mo ng rest. If you work continuously without rest, para kang computer na bigla na lang magshu-shutdown!

Rest prevents burnout. Mga makina nga kelangan din ng rest, ikaw pa?! Buti ang kotse at ang ibang mga makina, may spare parts. Ang tao, wala! So if you want to avoid burnout, take a rest. Take a break. Magbakasyon ka!

Rest replenishes creativity. Have you ever been in a meeting na tumagal na nang ilang oras pero parang wala nang nangyayari? Then you decide to take a 15-20 minute break. After you get back, biglang dumami ang creative ideas?! Minsan, rest allows you to look at a problem from a different perspective. At pagbalik mo, refreshed ka at mas creative pa kaysa sa dati!

Even God rested on the 7th day. If you remember the story of creation, God created the world for 6 days and he rested on the seventh day. Kaya nga, God said that we should celebrate the Sabbath!

Ngayong sem break, wag mong kalimutang magpahinga at mag-replenish ng energy at creativity!
