The Global Young People’s Convocation is a gathering of young people from all over the world coming together to connect with each other. The vision is young people sharing their life experiences, struggles, gifts and realities, so that their stories transform the world. It is young people celebrating who they are and who God is creating them to be. GYPC is young people coming together – bridging the social, economic, religious, ethnic and political gaps and differences that often separate and divide us. As a participant, you will hear amazing speakers and participate in multi-cultural celebrations of worship and unity in the midst of exciting diversity! You will visit sites to learn about unity emerging from the divisions in German history. You will serve with brothers and sisters from around the world to make a difference in the lives of the people of Berlin.
The Legislative Assembly happens as a part of the Global Young People’s Convocation and is designed to give young people a voice in the church through the legislative process. United Methodist young people from throughout the world have the opportunity to submit legislative proposals to the Legislative Assembly and one hundred and forty-four young people and adults who are sent as voting delegates will discuss, debate, and discern direction for moving proposals forward to the United Methodist General Conference in 2012.
